The following are the steps that will provide the customer a version of the Online Help module that will use the javascript implementation instead of the java. This solution will force the GibbsCAM online help system to utilize Java in a different fashion and should correct the issue where .ZOOB files are left when attempting to save a file.

Please be sure that:

  • You are using the latest version of GibbsCAM (v9.3.18 or later)
  • That the Environment Variable is added while GibbsCAM is NOT running

  1. To force Javascript the user needs to add the following GCFORCEJSHELP System Environment Variable
  • Go to Start and right-click the Computer or My Computer icon

  • Select Properties

  • Click on the Advanced System Properties link

  • Select the Environment Variables button
