|A change was made to GibbsCAM v10.5 to make sure the entire insert geometry is clear of all clearance moves.
To help illustrate this, the insert below is a standard Thread LT insert. I drew a vertical blue line illustrating how a portion of the tool geometry extends beyond the contact point. When moving to clearance planes the software will compensate for this geometry beyond the contact point. Previous GibbsCAM versions did not account for the entire tool geometry and could result in gouging. GibbsCAM v10.5 was changed to address this concern. Please note that your clearance plane could be different (generally higher) but should provide safer toolpath.
